USA Rugby has issued new guidelines for 7s rugby eligibility. A ‘must see’ for all 7s enthusiasts.

USA Rugby Eligibility Regulations (Effective May 2011)
Section 10. NATIONAL ALL STAR SEVENS CHAMPIONSHIPS
10.1. Team Eligibility – Teams may carry a maximum roster of 12 players per event weekend.
10.2. Player Eligibility
a) All players must meet the criteria for player eligibility to participate on the National Team of the United States. Per iRB Regulation 8 a player may only play for the senior USAR National Sevens Team if the player:
1) Was born in the United States; or
2) Has one parent or grandparent born in the United States; or
3) Has completed thirty-six consecutive months of Residence in the United States immediately preceding the time of the event; and
4) Has not played for the senior National Sevens Team of another Union; and
5) Meets all other IRB standards for National Team Representation
b) Player must be CIPP enrolled within the TU and residing in the United States, through initial enrollment or transfer, by July 15th.
c) Minors under the age of 18 must have signed parental or guardian consent form on file with the club acknowledging assumption of risk while participating in the sport.
